About Shredopedia

The Background

Shredopedia was founded by a couple of friends who love skiing... and who also might have a slight addiction to buying new gear (it's not a problem, promise). In the pursuit of awesome new stuff, we noticed that (a) the available online resources for ski products give a heavily fragmented view of the market - generally only catering to a select group of brands (e.g. only 30-40 of nearly 200 ski manufacturers), and that (b) the information that we often want on these products is either unavailable or not consumable in the way we want it to be.

Talking to other skiers, it turns out that a lot of them felt the same way. So we decided to embark on a journey to build out the most comprehensive informational resource on ski products you can find with a focus on consumer experience - the Shredopedia.

That's why we strive to raise the informational standards by supplying a wealth of filterable data, easy-to-digest reviews, and diverse rankings and comparisons that can guide skiers towards finding their perfect equipment.

We believe that the ski industry is filled with hidden gems that often go unnoticed, overshadowed by more prominent names. By showcasing these brands and their products, we strive to promote diversity, encourage competition, and keep boutiques open for business for many winters to come.
