Runner-up All-Mountain Skis (2024)

For the 2023/2024 season models, all-mountain skis continued to evolve with manufacturers focusing on a blend of playfulness and versatility. In this year, we saw skis being designed with advanced metal allocation techniques to enhance stability without sacrificing agility and responsiveness, particularly on softer terrains, and there was a noticeable trend towards skis with tail rockers, allowing for easier tail release in a variety of conditions.

The emphasis was on skis that could handle both groomed runs and off-piste adventures with ease, without requiring skiers to exert too much physical effort. Innovations in construction, like the use of carbon fiber and refined shaping, led to skis that offered great edge hold and stability at speed while retaining a lively character. The goal seemed to be to create skis that were not only fun but also inspired confidence on edge, even in icy conditions, and could easily transition between different types of snow, from powder to crud.
